빌라 만지카네(Villa Mangiacane)는역사는 고대로 거슬러 올라간다. 이 유서 깊은 저택의 이야기는 14세기 후반까지 이어지며, 매우 흥미로운 역사를 지니고 있다. 빌라는 미켈란젤로(Michelangelo)가 설계하였고, 마키아벨리(Machiavelli) 가문을 위해 지어졌다. 이러한 이유로, 원래의 설계 도면은 현재 피렌체의 우피치 미술관(Uffizi Gallery)에 보관되어 있다. 마키아벨리 가문은 1646년에 이 빌라를 마쩨이(Mazzei) 가문에 매각했으며, 마체이 가문은 20세기 중반까지 300년 넘게 소유권을 유지해왔다. 이후 2001년, 현재의 소유주가 이 부동산을 인수하며 수백만 파운드 규모의 복원 프로젝트를 통해 빌라를 과거의 영광으로 되돌려 놓았다. 오늘날 빌라 만지카네와 그 포도밭은 역사, 예술, 문화가 공존하는 공간이자, 피렌체 남쪽 키안티 언덕을 대표하는 상징적인 장소로 자리매김하고 있다. 

The history of Villa Mangiacane has ancient roots. The compelling history of this estate dates back to the late 14th century. The villa was designed by Michelangelo and built for the Machiavelli family. This is why the original construction plans are preserved at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. The Machiavelli family sold the villa in 1646 to the Mazzei family, who maintained ownership for over three centuries, until the mid-20th century. In 2001 the property was finally purchased by the current owners, who invested in a multi-million pound renovation plan to restore the villa to its former glory. Villa Mangiacane and its vineyards are today a place where history, art and culture coexist, and they are, without a doubt, a symbol of the Chianti hills south of Florence.
