포지오 보넬리(Poggio Bonelli) 영토는 시에나 출신 귀족인 치기(Chigi) 가문의 소유였다. 포지오 보넬리 현대사는 1965년 농장 마지막 주인이 몬테 데이 파치 은행에 그의 모든 영토를 기부금으로 내놓고 떠났을 때 시작됐다. 몬테 데이 파치 은행은 시에나를 기반으로 하는 세계에서 가장 오래된 은행으로 컨설팅 와인 메이커인 카를로 페리리(Carlo Ferrini)를 포함한 팀이 포지오 보넬리 포도 재배 및 와인 생산을 담당하고 있다. 포도밭은 카스텔누오로 베라르덴가에 88헥타르 규모이며, 산지오베제, 쁘띠 베르도, 카베르네 소비뇽 그리고 메를로를 재배한다.

The lands of the estate belonged to a branch of the noble Chigi Family from Siena, the Chigi Saracini. The contemporary history of Poggio Bonelli began in 1965 when the last owner of the farm left all his lands as a donation to Banca Monte dei paschi. Banca Monte dei Paschi is the oldest bank in the world based in Siena and manages the agricultural and wine making processes of Poggio Bonelli through a team of people including the consulting winemaker Carlo Ferrini. 88 hectares of vineyards in Castelnuovo Berardenga area planted with Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
